Artist's Corner

Featured this month is oil painter Tony Cerra. Tony uses the traditional medium of oil on canvas. Much of his work depicts local land and seascapes. He has an amazing use of light in each of his paintings creating realistic imagery. Tony's paintings and giclee' prints are for sale  for the month of June. Please stop and see.

Tony's Bio

     Tony Cerra paints landscapes, using traditional medium of oil on canvas. Tony grew up in Charlestown, MA and often expresses his gratitude to his mentors. The seventies were years of artistic growth for Tony,  creating drawings in charcoal and pencil then transferring those to oil on canvas. As an adult he took landscape drawing at the Cambridge Center of Adult Education and then from James F. Murray. He studied oil painting with Evelyn Wheeler.
     Tony has been selected and juried at many exhibits including the Whistler House Museum of Art in Lowell MA, the Newburyport Art Association, The Bridge Gallery, Andover Artist's Guild and Melrose Art Festival.
     Not only is Tony a masterful artist; he is a percussionist, a craftsman an educator,and a pilot.
